London Teaching agency

TeachLondon

Welcome to TeachLondon. We are a London-based teaching agency, servicing schools across the capital.

Here are a few important things you need to know about us:

  • We are known for our integrity. Our approach is respectful and honest and we work only with schools that will appreciate what you bring to the table.
  • We will advocate for you, and make sure you are paid in line with the British Teacher Pay Range and on PAYE (not through an umbrella organisation). We believe that teachers should be represented and advocated for in the interview and offer process and remunerated appropriately. The service we offer teachers is free, and the service fee is paid by the schools we support.
  • We love supporting career-focused, international teachers soon to arrive in the UK or already living and working here. Your passion is our motivation.
  • Whether you are looking for a PPA role, fixed-term contract, a more permanent placement or leadership job we will help make it a reality for you.
  • Teachers we work with are impressed with the calibre of schools we are partnered with, the interview preparation provided and the on-going support given by our team of teacher/consultants.

Find out what our teachers say!

We hold regular social events to ensure our teachers feel connected with each other and feel a sense of community.

Our social events are the perfect opportunity to meet like minded teachers but to also provide us with feedback on how TeachLondon services.

What Types of work do we specialise in?

We predominantly support teachers who want to find a fixed-term or permanent contract in a London school. We love getting to know our schools and our teachers, and facilitating the best possible match. As teachers ourselves, we know that finding a school community that aligns with your ethics and pedagogical approach is essential to having a positive experience and achieving your career goals while you are living and teaching in London.

How do TeachLondon support Teachers?

Whether you are planning to arrive in London in the future or are currently dissatisfied with your London teaching job, we are the agency to really listen and find you the perfect long-term or permanent job.

Our support does not end when you secure your position. We know that moving to London and living on the other side of the world is not easy. Sometimes you need help with school-related issues and sometimes you need life admin support!

What types of schools do we partner with?

The short answer is- GREAT PLACES TO WORK! We work with top schools throughout London. Whether you are an Early Years, Primary, SEN or Secondary teacher, we have strong partnerships with state, faith and independent schools across Greater London.

The vast majority of these schools are Ofsted Good or Outstanding.

The TeachLondon team take time to visit and really  get to know the schools we work with, so we are confident our teachers will have a positive experience if they secure a job there. We work equally hard to get to know the teachers we support so we know which school environment will be the right for you.

What is our registration process?

If you decide to give TeachLondon a try, we will be in touch within 24 hours of you registering with us. We get lots of referrals from our schools and candidates alike, for professionals whose agency experience and support network, when here in the UK, wasn’t what they had hoped for. Whether you are in London now or planning to work there in the next 12-24 months, please reach out.  Watch our video to see what our teachers say about our process.

How much will I get paid?

As teacher consultants, we are here to advocate for you!

  • If you are working in a London school, there is a British Teacher Payscale and the salary is based on whether the schools is located in inner, outer or the fringes of London. You are paid more than all other parts of England.
  • In England, teachers are paid based on the location of the school, qualifications and their years of experience. As a straight classroom teacher, the salary band tops out at 6 years of experience. To be paid beyond what is called M6 (Main pay range/6 years), you would need to take on a additional roles of responsibilities.
  • In theory, in order to be officially paid on the main teacher pay range you would also need to have gained British Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). If you are a provisional teacher in your home country and unable to gain QTS, you can work in British schools for 4 years without issue.
  • If you need help applying for QTS, let us know. We can point you in the right direction!
