Other Skills & Experience

Professional Practice

Australian/NZ/Canadian teachers have generally completed a series of 4-6 professional practice placements by the time they complete their 4-year teaching degree, often with two in each year of the degree.

 The agenda of Universities and the Education Departments is to deliver trainee teachers a wide range of teaching practice opportunities in a variety of school settings including; challenging and academic environments with both mainstream, ESL, and SEN pupils.

Examination Preparation

Our experienced teachers will have equivalent experience preparing students for examinations and tests.

Our ECT’s may have some experience in the classroom of assessment and testing but will certainly have covered this in their university degree.

All teachers will have the equivalent;

SATS training in Literacy and numeracy preparation and testing and/or;

GCSE/A Level preparation and testing

Wider Community Skills

Most overseas teachers have been involved in extra-curricular responsibilities, so are willing to continue to contribute in this regard.

Most are willing and able to coach a sport. In Australia, there are lots of opportunities to teach outdoors. This also contributes to classroom management skills as they have experience managing in an environment with no walls to contain students.

They often have charitable, social, and community service experience so could be involved in these types of projects.
